Part of the Ibiza openings calendar for 2018 are not only the famous clubs, but also many new hotels and restaurants. Here are my personal favorites!
7 Pines Resort
Seven Pines Resort Ibiza will open its doors this May and will be the perfect place to unwind in a calm and private setting. Its name is derived from its location: on a clifftop on the edge of a pine forest which borders the sea, on the west coast of the island (which also means the best sunsets). From here, you can also appreciate unobstructed views of the legendary Es Vedrà and easily access beaches such as Cala Conta and Cala Codolar. The all-suite resort has, instead of bedrooms, full-on mini-villas, some of which have private pools and gardens. Seven Pines’ facilities also include a number of fine restaurants, expansive meeting, event space a sprawling spa which offers relaxing treatments along with meditation, yoga, and Medical Aesthetics. The resort’s mission, as defined on the official website, is a bold one: “Seven Pines’ aim is to respect the unique culture and character of this very special location by integrating local Mediterranean elements into the property itself. A tailor-made offering and service: You define your luxury experience, we will guide you through it.” Seven Pines Resort is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.
Los Patios stole my heart last year when I first saw a sneak peek of the place on Instagram. For those who seek a more balanced life, better food, great company and loads of creativity, this is the place. It’s an oasis on the island, away from mass tourism, open year-round and reserved for hedonists who call Ibiza home. Launched by the South African collector, publisher, and philanthropist David Leppan, Los Patios will be pampering guests with a couple of seasonal, all-organic restaurants and bars between olive and lemon groves. The Michelin star-winning chef Peru Almandoz has created a different menu for each of the two restaurants. El Comedor is set to become a place to gather, to mingle and to enjoy delicious food and drink dining experience with produce from organic and sustainable farms. At El limonar the outdoor kitchen prepares barbecued meats, a menu of salads and the naughtiest of summer desserts. The combination of its unique setting and sublime gastronomy makes summer nights an experience for the senses. Also, the freshly baked bread and pastries will be made in the in-house panaderia. Basically, all you could ask for in one place.
Cuban style, modern comfort and the sparkling sunsets of San Antonio Bay – a winning formula for the brand new Cubanito Ibiza. Part of the Concept Hotel Group, this adults-only hotel takes its interior design inspiration from the vibrant Miami neighborhood of Little Havana where Cubans relocated from the 1950s onwards, mixing Art Deco and Colonial architecture styles together. Each room pays tribute to Cuban musicians, actors, and artists from a multitude of disciplines, highlighting Cuba’s cultural contribution to the world. The Group’s signature touches make a welcome return in the form of SMEG refrigerators, Marshall speakers and an in-room bar to start the night with a bang. Set in a tranquil spot next to the beautiful beach of Cala Gració, you are just a short walk from the center of San Antonio and the famous Sunset Strip.
Paradiso Ibiza Art Hotel
Just as Cubanito, Paradiso is part of the Concept Hotel Group and is located on the main avenue of San Antonio Bay, in an idyllic enclave near the best beaches on the island. The hotel has an eye catching dramatic exterior, redolent of Miami’s South Beach and is decorated in pale pink pastels and lavender. 60 artists of all kinds of disciplines have come together to create a distinctly stylish offering in the area. Guests can chill elegantly in the tropical garden with pink pool and submerged sunbeds or recline on one of the Balinese beds on the delightful pool terrace. Each of the rooms at the Paradiso has Marshall speakers, Smeg fridge and a very colorful furniture characteristic of the 70’s.
